International Activity

My lab measures the surface-atmosphere exchange of energy, water, and greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide. We also work with global datasets of such flux measurements, including measurements of cropping systems and different global forest types including managed forests. Recent projects have included studies of the role of land management on regional climate in the northern Great Plains of the US and Canada, trace gas fluxes from tropical forest ecosystems and their role in the carbon cycle and cloud formation processes, the greenhouse gas balance of agroecosystems in the US including dairy farms and algal biofertilizer treatments, and remote sensing of the carbon cycle. I have worked for extended periods in Europe and I am always happy to learn more about international agriculture and forestry across the globe.
