International Activity

Prof. Mukherjee’s primary research interests include development economics, with an emphasis on the role of human capital and political economy. She utilizes both field experiments and non-experimental methods in her work, and has extensive experience doing primary data collection in the field with local partners in South Asia. Her current research projects are based in India, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and Nepal, and include studies on improving state capacity, and researching economic issues surrounding access to education and health services.

Her research has been published in journals including the Review of Economics and Statistics, the Journal of Public Economics, Econometrica, and the Journal of Development Economics.
