International Education Week 2021 (IEW) will be celebrated on campus and across the country Nov. 15-19. This year’s keynote event will feature UW–Madison alumnus Aaron Williams. Aaron has had an incredible career in international service and leadership, which includes historic milestones including becoming the first African-American to serve as USAID’s executive secretary, and the first African-American male to be appointed to lead the Peace Corps. He will be discussing his formative experiences, service, and reading from his newly published memoir, “A Life Unimagined: The Rewards of Mission-Driven Service in the Peace Corps and Beyond.” The virtual event is free and open to the public. There will be a “watch party” in Grainger Hall for those interested in a group viewing and learning more about Peace Corps following the virtual event from Campus Peace Corps recruiter Kate Schachter and other Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs).
