The International Committee on Organization and Policy (ICOP) would like to invite you to : Webinar: A Decade of Action to Advance Food Security: Progressing the International Approach, hosted by International Agriculture Section (IAS) Time: Jul 19, 2021 01:00 PM Eastern Time https://zoom.us/j/98323507084?pwd=SFI3eTR3ektGdGVIMVNaVkZ3L01sdz09 Meeting ID: 983 2350 7084 This year, the United Nations is convening the Food Systems Summit as part of the Decade of Action to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. The Summit will launch bold new actions for progress on the 17 SDGs, each of which relies on healthier, more sustainable, and equitable food systems. Guided by five Action Tracks, the Summit is an opportunity to highlight North American and global investments in agricultural research, development, and outreach to end global hunger, undernutrition, and extreme poverty. Considering the development of a new U.S. Government Global Food Security Strategy next year, it will be helpful to understand how institutions of higher education can work with partners to advance food production, process, and supply systems to close the gap on hunger. The purpose of the APLU BAA IAS program is to provide a forum where North American public higher education institutions can identify Actions via research, Extension, and educational programming to support outcomes from the Food Systems Summit.
